Redesigning HKDI Wayfinding System
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The existing wayfinding system in HKDI was installed along with the campus opening in 2010. Many users complained about the system for its inefficiency, which seriously affected their user experience. Through detailed research and testing at an earlier stage of the existing system, the following problems were identified. In terms of functionality, there were ineffective large tower identification, missing signage at major decision points, confusing zoning and navigation on 7/F and 8/F, and poor usage of colours.
PROJECT CONCEPT
This project aims to provide HKDI users with an aesthetic, secure, functional, and reliable wayfinding system. Apart from giving the users clear directions and strengthening their sense of a place to in reaching the destinations, the project also enhances the image and credibility of HKDI.
