PROJECT BACKGROUND

Yau Ma Tei Fruit Wholesale Market is an old Hong Kong-style market. After proposing reconstruction plans In recent years, the Government has finally decided to split the wholesale part and rebuild a modern market. By doing so, the wholesale fruit market will lose its original features and value. The project tries to build and respect the value of the original fruit market while encouraging the tourists to have deeper exploration and better understanding on the unique working culture and history in the fruit market. By coming up with this proposal, I hope to solve the problems of an aged market in a sustainable way while meeting the needs of local residents.
