xR Stage in Immersed Artwork Presenting
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The presentation for traditional art has many limitations, such as security, temperature, and amplitude. To minimize such limitations while enhancing public’s appreciation towards art, a new method of digitization is used to present the artworks. Using virtual production, xR Stage is a new technology that presents artworks by enabling a more flexible presentation and allowing users to have better understanding on each piece of work.
PROJECT CONCEPT
In this project, a scaled xR Stage will be set up to showcase immersed artworks inspired by famous artists. To make the virtual space more dynamic, these artworks will be digitized and built up through iconic 3D models. The artwork will be displayed on an LCD TV in high resolution. Also, IR cameras are installed to capture the signal and respond to the media server to control the real camera and integrate the surface display movement and virtual production camera movement, meaning the hardware replicates but scales down the actual xR Stage for better demonstration. It is hoped that the convenience will allow companies or organisations to better display and demonstrate their artworks to the public in the future.
