The History is Present
The crisis in Ukraine
On 24 Feb 2022, Russian military invaded Ukraine.
Russian president Putin called it a mission to “demilitarize and de-Nazifying”, which initially focused on the status of Crimea and parts of the Donbas. Later, the Russian invasion spread to other cities in Ukraine. As of today, this has become the biggest refugee crisis since WW2, which is a reason why many people would compare this war with WW2 while some others are worrying if it is possible to have a WW3 to follow.
“The History is Present” is a campaign which aims to provide a platform to share stories of ordinary Ukrainians and their experience in the war. We also aim to draw the public’s attention to this global issue.
