Plastic pollution under the pandemic
Help the Environmental Protection Department's "GR
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly exacerbated plastic pollution, and many people are unaware of its seriousness. Many people discard masks at will for convenience, causing serious global plastic and water pollution, damaging the ecological balance of the environment. Disposable masks contain a large amount of polypropylene, which takes a long time to decompose and produces a large amount of toxins, which pose a potential threat to the environment. In addition to disposable medical supplies, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed people's lifestyles, especially in terms of delivery. Citizens choose to shop at home, and the consumption of plastic products has increased, most of which are non-recyclable food packaging.
PROJECT CONCEPT
People may feel that these issues are not important, or that it is difficult to solve on their own, so I would like to present solutions in light and simple ways. The project is aimed at children, telling stories about the seriousness of plastic pollution and introducing some simple ways to reduce the use of plastic. Regarding visual concepts, I tried several collage works after referring to other illustrators' picture books and sought advice from lecturers about collage. After discussing with the lecturer, I decided to use this collage method to continue the project.
