PROJECT BACKGROUND

All citizens should have equal access to public spaces. The situation in nowadays Hong Kong, however, is quite different. Generally, public spaces are reserved for the wealthy. In exchange for their wealth, the rich have the option of living in more comfortable environments. There is a clear line of demarcation between the rich and the poor in the Yau Ma Tei community. Despite being only a few blocks apart, the entire environments and atmosphere can be very different.
