PROJECT BACKGROUND
Cooking Chinese cuisine is a complicated task. As space in Hong Kong is very limited and the kitchens are usually very small, room for preparing food in a kitchen is limited, in which users often have to prepare food on a small tabletop. As a result,, the users (especially novice Chinese cooks) are often frustrated by the messy environment. Meanwhile, since the equipment and containers are often placed in different positions, users need to frequently move around in the kitchen to get the utensils they need, which affects the efficiency in preparing the food.
PROJECT CONCEPT
‘’fall’’ is a compact food preparation kit that allows novice Chinese cooks to prepare food easily in a small or shared kitchen environment. The kit includes compact containers that save time for the users to find the equipment. It can be placed on the counter of the kitchen or attached to the lower shelve of the higher cupboards. During use, the kit also serves as a temporary platform for placing ingredients or dishes, thereby creating more space for food preparation while providing more convenience. In the offline mode, the kit can be stored in a standard kitchen or anywhere you want
