Colors of Pain
PROJECT BACKGROUND
This project is inspired by the tragedy of Vincent van Gogh, the renowned Dutch post-impressionist painter who suffered from mental illness. While mental illness is often misunderstood and underestimated by people, it can actually happen to anyone. In fact, it can be very dangerous if a person keeps ignoring his own mental health and refuses to handle it properly. This project aims to introduce the concept of mental illness to people and encourage them to review their own mental wellness.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The Eternity’s Gate is a progressive metal piece inspired by the painting of At Eternity's Gate by Vincent van Gogh. With having a powerful opening that possesses a feeling of falling from reality, the piece also has a lot of odd grouping of riff with a feeling of struggling in pain and suffering. This piece attempts to show the audience the pain that Vincent van Gogh was suffering while illustrating his desire for freedom.
