D Theory: (Circus in Chernobyl)
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The damage and pollution that the fashion industry has brought to the environment has been well understood. Inspired by the idea of a “Circus in Chernobyl”, we intend to use brilliant colours alongside an alarming siren to create a satirical mood. In doing so, we hope to raise public awareness of the need for sustainable development in the fashion industry.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Using a denim kimono and balloon pants as the basis, we want to showcase a contrasting collection with the integration of circus pattern patchworks. The decadent and restless image of the model echoes the theme of “Circus in Chernobyl” in bringing out a vibe of madness.
