Unrestrained
Release your voice
PROJECT BACKGROUND
The theme 'Unrestrained' came from the economic instability in Britain in 1970s. As most of the youths were unemployed, they began to resist and rebel. Originally, their rebellious voices were expressed in music. A band called “Sex Pistols” conveyed their outlook ‘of having no future through the songs on stage. Since then, underground music began to rise and young people expressed their thoughts in the spirit of punk to vent their dissatisfaction with the government and society. The punk spirit actually carries the most primitive meaning: 'Be yourself and bravely practise your own ideas in that moment.' (Emotions - radiation expressed)
PROJECT CONCEPT
We should not limit ourselves because of the limitations of the environment and do not shrink back because of others’ comments and so-called “advice”. Each of us is unique and can be different, regardless of the music, political stance, gender orientation, or clothing preferences. We are the masters who have the sole right to follow our dreams and choose our own ways. In the collection of “Unrestrained”, I expressed myself by using clothing as the voice and attitude of freedom of thoughts.
