HD in Landscape Architecture
Designed for students who have passion for the environment and people, this programme provides a rich learning experience for students aspired to become landscape architecture professionals. In particular, the curriculum lays a foundation in both design philosophy and technical knowledge for students who intend to explore the landscape architecture profession. By providing background training in landscape planning and spatial design skills, planting design, landscape architecture theory and history, landscape technology, and visual communication, students can decide to join the work force or to advance to further studies in landscape architecture. Besides technical aptitude, professional knowledge, and skills, it also equips students with necessary legal and managerial knowledge, professional language, leadership qualities, interpersonal and other generic skills at an initial para-professional level. Through the blending of theoretical knowledge and practical application, the programme can enable graduates to pursue careers in the profession of landscape architecture. Meanwhile, it also aims to cultivate a holistic approach to design education that encompasses both conceptual and professional concerns leading to the graduates’ capability in developing independent decision-making. The curriculum prepares students for articulation to further education in landscape architecture so as to advance their careers as landscape architects and project managers in landscape architecture. Graduates can apply for admission to the top-up degree programme offered by Birmingham City University, our overseas partner university, and degree programme offered by THEi. Following the bachelor degree qualification, students can continuing to further their studies in relevant Master’s degree programmes, sit for professional examinations for membership in professional organizations, and become qualified Registered Landscape Architects.
