In today's society, many people lack self-confidence and dare not express themselves. When it comes to clothing, some people, due to a lack of confidence, would wear a lot of clothes to cover up the imperfections in their figures. Meanwhile, although some people would wear sexy clothes, they are worried about being looked at by others. In today's society, everyone wants to show his/her perfect image in front of others. Thus, they will hide their imperfections and flaws and believe that being emotionally fragile is a kind of sin. This phenomenon inspired me with the thought of why fragility is something to be ashamed of.
Fragility is a part of us. It makes each of us unique and complete. Being perfect does not mean being good in every sense. If everyone is ‘perfect’, then how can we see vitality and diversity in our society? My design inspiration is from Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt, who was a confident and powerful woman with outstanding talents and intelligence. It has inspired me to study Egyptian mythology and culture to create a modern, noble, and attractive outfit to enhance the showing of femininity and confidence.
